Apr 21, 12:00 pm - Dec 15, 2:00 pm MDT
Apr 21, 2:00 pm - Dec 15, 4:00 pm EDT
online
Led by: Doshin Nelson
Description
Sessions meet 12-2pm MT weekly Tuesdays from Spring April 2026-mid December
including a weekly sitting session 45 minutes Friday afternoons 12-12:45pm MT
Potential retreat workshop in late summer or fall, attendance not required, cost to attend is separate.
We will meet every Tuesday for practice and study, and Fridays for meditation. For this program the focus is consistent practice and transmission; we will study a list of foundational Zen and Mahayana teachings, taught mostly by Doshin and Shikyo (some guest teachings) not webinar slide style but we will use sutras, texts and teachings as the basis for group study and practice. The reading list is available in advance so that people can have time to read before the start of the course. Tuesday sessions begin with presentation of Buddhist Foundational Wisdom, then a silent sit, then presentation from whoever is teaching, followed by time for Q&A. Fridays are only a group sit.
Having commitment to sit, study and practice regularly is requested, for people who are serious with a sense of humor! It is possible to access the recordings, this is subject to change, Tuesday live attendance as much as possible is requested.
Cost is $108 monthly starting April 21st, 2026. Please email Shikyo / Janel at [email protected] to confirm how the monthly cost works, it will need to be set up as a recurring donation for 8 months. First donation is due by the starting date, April 21st, 2026, due every four weeks (8 months) until November 21st 2026. You can register now, and start payment before or by April 21st, 2026 as monthly dana, recurring donations, which you will need to adjust / stop December of 2026.
